Dr. Brent Henderson is a Licensed School Counselor (Georgia), a Licensed Professional Counselor (Georgia), a National Certified Counselor, and a National Certified School Counselor. He spent 21 years serving as a school counselor in K-12 schools.
Dr. Henderson is actively involved in several professional organizations, such as the American Counseling Association, the American School Counselor Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the Georgia School Counselor Association. He served as president of the Georgia School Counselor Association from 2015-2016.
Research interests of Dr. Henderson include (a) principals’ perspectives on comprehensive school counseling programs, (b) experiences of LGBTQ+ students in K-12 settings, (c) the role of site supervisors on the development of novice school counselors, and (d) the role of school counselors in working with special education students.
